Antonia's Favorites: A Guide to the Best CBD Orgasm Lubes and Suppositories

What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the many cannabinoids found primarily within the flowers and leaves (the “aerial”) part of the cannabis plant. While THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, can produce the “high” cannabis is known for, CBD is a non-psychoactive option touted for its stress and inflammation reducing properties. You may have noticed it’s making its way into everything from bottled water to face creams.

Are all CBDs created equal?

CBD is still a relatively new additive, and like any ingredient, quality matters. So, no, all CBDs are definitely not created equal. There are a lot of companies using isolates, which do not contain all the valuable phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids from which your body can benefit. I recommend a hemp-derived, full-spectrum CBD. Being organic is particularly important here because no woman needs to stick pesticides in her body, especially the vagina.

Why would I want CBD in my lube?

Adding CBD to lubricants actually makes a lot of sense. A well-made CBD lube can increase blood flow, which intensifies stimulation and your own arousal system. You can start feeling delicious down there pretty quickly as blood flow and natural lubrication increases, and then all the pleasure sensations intensify, including your orgasms. For me, that meant rolling orgasms and even some spontaneous orgasms the next day.

Additionally, CBD can ease pain and discomfort and decrease inflammation, so one can feel more at ease in one’s body and find welcome relief from sexually-associated pain. For added relief, CBD suppositories are fantastic, seem very promising for menstrual cramps, and may be worth trying for endometriosis pain. A few suppositories are recommended below.

What can you expect when using a CBD lubricant?

It has been my experience that responses to any cannabis product, including CBD, are very individual. Don’t think that because you’ve tried one you’ve tried them all. I can attest that my experiences with each product was quite different. Be mindful to test things when you have hours ahead, especially with suppositories. Most people do not experience a “high” from CBD, but we’re all different and it can happen.

Using these products is not like using a traditional lubricant. With a normal lube, you look for a product that makes things slick and keeps things slick without getting sticky, and does not cause any irritation. The CBD products I recommend below are a way to bring blood flow and stimulate your own natural lubrication, while increasing sensation, decreasing tension, and maximizing your pleasure.

All of the products I recommend are free of glycerin, parabens and petrochemicals. I live in California, so I have access to suppositories with CBD and THC. I have tested the products in every way possible, so if it says it’s edible, I have tasted it. I’m a dedicated researcher. ;-)

Please note that many natural cannabis lubes are not compatible with latex and some sex toys, so be careful to read your labels and prepare accordingly.

Availability will be state dependent. Check your local availability through clubs in your area.

Foria_Awaken.jpg

Foria makes Awaken, Natural Arousal Oil with CBD and Botanicals. Awaken is a pre-lube packaged in a spray bottle, which may not be your favorite application style. However, it makes up for it with its silken texture, a light scent that hints at chocolate and mint, and a pleasant, barely-noticeable taste. It can take 15-30 minutes for the effects, which can include increased natural lubrication, blood flow, decreased tension and increased sensation. The onset was pretty quick for me. I experienced increased sensation and rolling orgasms that went on and on.

Do not combine with latex.

I could tell Toca CBD Lube was different as soon as I took the bottle out of the box. The oil is beautiful, with a vibrancy that let me know the product had been made with intention and care. The lube is a combined effort of an herbalist, a sexual health educator and a clear desire to help others enjoy more pleasure. This high-quality MCT coconut oil based product is infused with essential oils, flowers, gemstones, and 200mg of full-spectrum CBD per ounce, which is more than one normally sees in lubes. Toca lube is made for vulvas/vaginas in mind, providing anti-inflammatory benefits as well as stimulating blood flow and sensation so you can play longer and hopefully have even more pleasure and fun. The lube can be used anywhere by any human, and I admit to using it as a massage oil (highly recommended, btw). I love the way it feels, silky and sensual. It’s benefits can take 10-20 minutes, but I noticed effects very quickly, and my orgasms were extra intense. Just do not combine this lubricant with condoms or latex sex toys.

Dani_Pepper_Orgasm_Enhancer_CBD.jpg

Dani Pepper offers “O” Orgasm Enhancer CBD Lube. I was surprised by the cream-like texture yet delighted by the light hint of rose. They use a nano form of CBD that they call CBD Nanomax Technology, which means the product can work more rapidly. I almost immediately noticed a tingling that quickly turned to a spreading warmth. I experienced increased arousal and more intense orgasms.

This product is latex safe.

You want me to stick weed where?

Let’s talk about suppositories, because I understand that sticking cannabis in your vagina and backside may not seem very appealing. That would be an oversight, though. Traditional Western medicine offers patients suppositories all the time, because it’s a great way to deliver medicine. Sticking cannabis in the vagina in the name of health is certainly not new, and believe it or not, evidence for it can be found dating back thousands of years. Perhaps then, it’s better to think of this as a resurgence, and getting back to basics.

Intimacy.jpg

Foria makes two CBD suppository options. Their Intimacy suppositories are a 50 mg lower-dose version. The Basics Suppositories have 110 mg. If you’re looking for increased arousal, Intimacy is a great place to start. I have friends who say they help with menstrual cramps. If you are looking for pain relief, the higher dose in the Basics may assist you more. As with any medicine, it works wonders for some people and not at all for others. Ah, chemistry.

There’s how much THC in there?

When I encountered my first box of THC-containing suppositories, I was confused by the amount of THC they contained. 60 mg! Whoa. Can that be right? I’m not a novice, but I am sensitive, and the last edible I ate had less than 10 mg and had me all but rocking myself in the corner waiting for daylight. ;-)

Turns out THC inserted into the vagina and rectum is processed differently in the body. So while you are likely to feel the THC, it tends to give more of a body high than a head high. But, as always, we’re all different. I’ve read that how far in the medicine is inserted can affect the intensity levels people can experience, fwiw.

I recommend creating a lovely ambiance for yourself. Sexual activity while high can be more intense, and being in a warm, welcoming environment can lend to a positive experience. As cannabis and self-care author, Sophie Saint Thomas told me in our recent interview, having sex high can allow people to “bond on emotional, physical and spiritual levels”. If you are being intimate, it is important to stay in contact with your partner about how you are feeling, and express if any feelings of overwhelm or anxiety creep in.

Protect your bedding (the oils in suppositories can stain), and lie back and get comfortable. Some people experience onset within 10-15 minutes, and it can also take time to feel the full effects of the suppositories. Certainly don’t plan on driving, or operating any machinery other than some favorite sex toys.

Do not combine with latex.

Foria_Relief.jpg

Foria’s THC version is called Relief, and it has 70 mg of THC and about 13.5 mg of CBD. Like the CBD version, I felt a lot more comfortable in my body within half an hour, but this was a much deeper level of comfort. It increased arousal, sensation, and amplified my orgasms. Could you hear me from there? ;-)
